Shallow soils and sloping topography create design challenges.

Gig Harbor Septic Site Plan

The Gig Harbor septic design for the nearly 2-acre lot on Lombard Drive encounters challenges due to shallow soils and site topography.

Cost efficiency plays a pivotal role in septic system design, particularly for replacements. To mitigate expenses, we meticulously sought the least invasive area to place the drainfield on this Gig Harbor property.

Given the shallow soils, we had two primary options for drainfield placement: amidst the trees on the west side or within the open area on the east side. Although soil quality marginally favored the wooded area, the prohibitive cost of tree clearing steered us towards the east side.

The soil’s depth, less than 30 inches to a restrictive layer, coupled with slope erosion, necessitated a pretreatment to pressure system.

This system employs an aerobic treatment unit (ATU) to aerate sewage, fostering more efficient bacterial breakdown. Additionally, we integrated a trash tank, serving as a collection point and reducing pumping frequency, a vital component for ATU-based systems.

The comprehensive Gig Harbor septic system replacement includes a trash tank, ATU, pump tank, effluent pump, timer control panel, and 270 linear feet of drainfield, ensuring longevity for the Gig Harbor home.

Our commitment lies in providing tailored Gig Harbor septic design solutions, addressing the unique needs of each property. Trust our expertise for cost-effective, efficient, and durable systems that stand the test of time.
